MY LIF£ AS AN UPCOMING ACTOR BY IGWE epi 34

ADANNE: yes, i prepared something for you.
ME: aren’t you giving me injection this morning?
ADANNE:i’ll but you’ll eat first, before injection.
So should i bring the food nah?
ME:yes,,,,you can

she left immediately, i came down from the bed,
i saw my phone under the my bed, i pick it up and tried to ”on” it but the battery was down.
I kept it on the bed and went out and took my brush.
I came back to the room, i sat down as i was meditating about Adanne and her sudden good samaritan behaviour towards me.
”was this not the Adanne that insulted me on phone?
This world wouldn’t cease to amuse me.”
some minutes later, she came in with the food and table water. She sat beside me as she served me the food.
ADANNE: here, is the food. You’ve to rush this food,
so that i can give you injection and go back to my duty before, doctor will look for me.
ME: you can go and come back in 10mins time.
ADANNE: alright but i’ll come back soon.
ME: there is no problem.
Eeem! Adanne,
don’t be offended
Please, when did you become a nurse,
i mean all those time i’ve been with you,
you didn’t tell anything about about choosing a nurse as a profesion?
ADANNE: igwe, it just came by suddenly and i’ve no alternative than to accept it.
ME: how is your brother?
ADANNE: **she bend her head and tears rolled** it’s a long story.
ME: why are you shedding tears? Tell me what’s the problem?
What happened?
ADANNE: my brother was attacked by some cult boys and they killed him. ** she continue shedding tears, i held her as i was consoling her**
ME: is ok my dear, God knows the best.
HE giveth and taketh when it pleases him so who are we to question God. ** i feel so bad because of that bad news** so what about your parent, how are they doing?
ADANNE: some quys came to our house and took my father away. So ever since then,
my mum and i haven’t set our eyes on him again. Who knows if he is dead or alive.
ME: what are we going to call such a thing? Didn’t they demand for ranson?
ADA:it would’ve been better if they demand for ranson.
ME: when did it happend?
ADANNE: almost four months now.
ME: am so sorry my dear. Were you around when those quys took him away?
ADANNE:No. The incident were narrated by our neighbours who witnessed it.
They said that one sienna car arrived in our street, they parked aside and one quy came out from the car and approached them.
he told them that they were looking for Augustine okoro which is my father,
according to them, they thought he was my father’s business partner because of the way he dressed like a gentleman and they shown him our compound.
He drove in to our compound, and some minutes later,
the car came out from our compound with high speed and went away.
That was the last thing we heard about him.
ME: chai! Wonders shall never end. I strongly believe your father is still alive.
ADANNE: i just pray so. So
thereafter, things started becoming hard for my mum and i. So i decided to indulge in some work so as to help myself and my mum.
ME: that’s a good idea. Good will see you through. You can now go back so that doctor will not look for you. We’ll still talk about it later.
Eeemm! One more thing, do you leave around this area?
ADANNE: yes i do.
ME: alright…..please can you help me and charge my phone?
ADANNE: yes….
** i gave her my phone and she left.
I opened the food she brought for me and it was jellof rice with fried plantain,
the aroma of the food can even make you to forget your surname while eating…..
As i was eating, my mum entered and i greeted her.
”how’re you today” she said.
”mum am ok” i replied. She sat beside me as i was eating.
MUM: **she breadth down** who brought food for you?
ME:a nurse…
MUM: a nurse!
ME: yes mum,,,,
MUM: which nurse?
ME: that same nurse that gave me injection yesterday.
MUM: but why did she brought food for you?
ME: she asked me if i’ve eaten because she wanted to give me injection and i told her no.
She went out and came in with this food ** i pointed at the food **.
MUM: wow! That’s so nice of her.
ME: what happened last night that you abandoned me here?
MUM: Chigboogu nwa! It was terrible yesterday night.
Arm robbers invaded our neighbours last night,
it was by God’s grace that they didn’t enter our compound. So after they went away,
police arrived.
ME: i hope police later got them arrested?
MUM: for where,,,,they were busy arresting innocent peoples they see around the environs.
And that’s what prevented me from coming back to the hospital.
ME: na waoh.
That’s the problem we’re facing in Nigeria,
someone will commit a crime and another person will suffer on his behave.
I hate police with passion though my uncle Simeon Igwe(inspector) is a policeman but i don’t see them as a body that’s securing this country rather, i regard them as an agboro because what they’re after is money.
There was a day, i’m travelling to port-harcourt with my car,
they stopped me, after checking all my papers and they were intact,
one of them asked me, what is my engine number. I nearly insulted him that day.
Thereafter, my mum paid for my hospital bills,
before we went home,
i shown my mum Adanne and she thanked her for feeding me.
I exchanged phone number with Adanne but i did that in an absent of my mum.
She told me to visit her.
Some days later, Bisola keep calling me day and night but i refused to pick her call.
The first day i went to school after i came back from hospital,
Bisola called me to her office and i went there. She offered me a sit.
When i sat down and looked at her,
i remembered the s-x, i had with and my d–k resurrected.
To be continue.
